footsteps lonely lost in shimmering sand mirrors of water reflecting light countless waves bright grey along with lines turquoise and white curls of sand on that vast and endless land nothing but the ocean and the sky I see nothing - nothing but the ocean and the sky
and us – we are fragile fleeting elusive – a moment in time and us – we are fragile delicate changing a moment in time but strong-willed gifted we are creators lovers companions we are
we are but a flower that fades we are but a leaf in the wind we are but a flower that fades we are a leaf in the wind
evening has come down upon the shore the glow of sunset vanishes into the night out in that tranquil bay a rising moon shares golden light cliffs stand still I see a quiet glistening coast nothing but the ocean and the sky I see nothing – nothing but the ocean and the sky
and us – we are fragile fleeting elusive – a moment in time and us – we are fragile delicate changing a moment in time but strong-willed gifted we are creators lovers companions we are
we are but a flower that fades we are but a leaf in the wind we are but a flower that fades we are a leaf in the wind we are but a flower that fades we are a leaf in the wind
yeah yeah she touches my heart yeah yeah as I see her struggling with old age yeah yeah she touches my mind yeah yeah as I hear her slow footsteps on the stairs
did she get to the core I wanna get to the core lay bare thoughts and feelings examine my soul can we get to the core I wanna get to the core yeah
yeah yeah she touches my heart yeah – yeah reflecting will I be like her yeah yeah she touches my mind yeah yeah wondering will I feel weary
did she get to the core I wanna get to the core lay bare thoughts and feelings examine my soul can we get to the core I wanna get to the core yeah
treasures not to be wasted respect and love is what we deserve treasures not to be wasted respect and love is what we give
we can get to the core get to the core get to the core yeah we can get to the core wanting searching more get there get to the core
there’s that sense of unbearable loneliness does it stem from loss
was the earth put here where we put here to nourish human solitude tell me where are bonds
oh to love and to give being hurt and to hurt letting go being left and still love
a sense of togetherness dark dense is loneliness
can we love without pain can we give without generosity
we can love having pain we can give being generous we can hate and we feel despair we can hurt and still be loved
in the sweetness of love bitter solitude is hidden all the warmth of love may turn into cold but cuddling into that space between despair and loneliness my thoughts and emotions align
solitary inspiration is just fine inspirational loneliness so fine loneliness solitude - so fine

the day an open door meadows lie ahead vast inviting tempting enchanting behind me the sky ahead lies blue sky
good to be open to whatever comes next or last following the flow of time having done what I could and I couldn’t behind me the sky ahead lies blue sky
having gone this far giving thanks for all the things days gone by and days to come the child at play - a woman today one flow one heart one mind
is there a master of fate opening and closing doors do we belong and how do we get there, behind us the sky ahead still blue sky
having gone this far giving thanks for all the things days gone by and days to come the child at play - a woman today one flow one heart one mind
do we really really ever change do we stay the same treasures enfolded in our hearts do we really really ever change secrets enfolded in our hearts
having gone this far giving thanks for all the things days gone by and days to come the child at play - a woman today having come this far having come this far having come - come this far
you’re content with a few warm rays and the weak touch of early spring sun on cold soil still half-frozen you prepare to give away
sturdy old tree your strength and austerity bewildering beauty of your bowl-shaped pretty flowers crimson they appear on nature’s sparse canvas before the first green leaves
how I admire your strength your endurance against winter frost and cold you prepare blossoming
how I admire your strength your endurance but moved am I surprised am I I’m amazed by your flowering
for year after year year after year year after year blossoming
year after year sturdy old tree hundreds of flowers appear
for you’re content with a few warm rays and the weak touch of early spring sun on cold soil still half-frozen you prepare and give away
